Washington: FBI assists Burlington Cascade Mall shooting attack probe

The FBI claims that it is helping the authorities in the fatal Cascade Mall shooting in Burlington, Washington that killed four people. The gunman who did the killing is still on the loose. The FBI’s Seattle office said by way of Twitter that it “has no information to suggest additional attacks planned” in Washington state but did not elaborate. Authorities were searching the area for a man wearing black who was last seen walking toward Interstate 5.

Washington State Patrol spokesman Mark Francis updated Friday night that three females were killed, one male suffered life-threatening injuries and another female suffered non-life threatening injuries at the Cascade Mall. Federal authorities are currently taking care of the deadly mall shooting.

Governor Jay Inslee said that many questions remain unanswered but state patrol and local law enforcement are on the scene working swiftly towards locating the shooter and clearing the area. “Trudi and I send our condolences to the families of the victims and prayers for anyone injured. We urge residents to heed all safety and detour warnings. Stay close to your friends and loved ones as we await more information and, hopefully, news of the suspect’s capture,” he said in a statement.

An employee at a restaurant near Cascade Mall said that doors were immediately locked when they heard of the mayhem Friday night. Stephanie Bose, an assistant general manager at Johnny Carino’s Italian restaurant near Cascade Mall in Burlington, Washington, told, the shooting happened inside the Macy’s department store.

The Washington State Patrol said the shooting happened at the Cascade Mall in Burlington, about 65 miles (105 kilometers) north of Seattle. Sgt. Mark Francis said it wasn’t immediately known if there was more than one gunman involved.
