Gurgaon Police have arrested 121 persons on Saturday under the ‘Operation Romeo Returns’, which was initiated to control eve teasing in the city.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Dharna Yadav said, “The two-hour long operation was launched in the wake of the recent increase in incidents of eve-teasing in the city.”
She added that the operation was carried out as working girls were feeling insecure during the night.
Last year, in a similar drive the Gurgaon police arrested over 100 youths under its Romeo-free campaign.
Gurgaon police had deployed 10 men and 10 women police officials in an anti-eve teasing squad in civil dress outside the malls last year to arrest eve-teasers.
