The indigenous vessel is also capable of participating in external firefighting missions and will be deployed for ocean surveillance and for monitoring sea lanes of communication.

The warship is capable of cruising at a speed of 23 knots and has a range of 6,000 nautical miles. It has a complement of 14 officers and a light helicopter along with two fast interceptor boats.
