Coimbatore: Rare rudrakshas, including one dating back two centuries and priced between Rs 1-22 lakh, will be on display at a six-day exhibition here from tomorrow.

“The exhibition will highlight the rarest 21 Mukhi (Face) rudrakshas. Normally, up to 14 Mukhi are only available,” Panduranga Rao, convener of the Indo-Nepal Rudraksha Organisation, who are holding the event, said.

He said they had with them the ‘Kuber Rudrakash’, signifying wealth, which costs Rs 22 lakh.

A rare and round mukhi, the ‘Saveri’, a ‘Naga Rudraksha’ signifying health and wealth, and another rudraksha called ‘Trinethram’ (Lord Shiva’s Third eye), are available at the exhibition.

“Rudrakshas are the power beads known for their effects, enhancing spiritualism and positive effects on health and prosperity,” Rao said.

Rao said he had a 15-year old ‘Prithvimala’ and Rs 3.6 crore worth ‘Indramala’, which contains all one to 21 Mukhis, which is “worn by a handful of lucky individuals”.

The idea behind holding the exhibition was to create awareness among the public on rudrakshas, their sanctity, spiritualism and positive effects, which enhances ones health and prosperity, Rao, a vedic mathematician, said.
