An Assistant Sub Inspector of the Sashastra Seema Bal allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle in Jammu city, police said on Thursday.
ASI Attar Singh of SSB was deployed at the district police lines in Jammu city when he shot himself with his service rifle late last evening, a police officer said.
A case was registered and investigations have been initiated to ascertain the reason behind the extreme step, he said.
