NEW DELHI:  India’s attempts to work on China to allow an international ban on terrorist Masood Azhar appear to have been rebuffed again.

No one should pursue “political gains in the name of counter-terrorism” is the latest stand taken by China, according to the Press Trust of India.

Later this week, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet Chinese President Xi Jingping at the BRICS summit in Goa.

India has blamed the Jaish-e-Mohammed for January’s attack on the air force base in Pathankot and last month’s terror strike on an army base in Uri in Kashmir, in which 19 soldiers were killed.
