Students of Jawaharlal Nehru University on Dussehra on Tuesday burnt an effigy with 10 heads that included faces of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP President Amit Shah, Baba Ramdev and JNU Vice-Chancellor, reported The Hindu. While across the country burning effigies with photos of terrorists and Pakistani national flag was a trend this year, National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), the student wing of Congress took it to another level by creating uproar over social media after the pictures of that effigy burning was uploaded. The effigy had the heads of Sadhvi Pragya, Nathuram Godse and Asaram Bapu as well.

The university administration has not reacted on the matter yet.

A NSUI spokesperson said that burning such an effigy was symbolic to convey the student’ displeasure regarding the “anti-poor, anti-people and anti- student” policies of Modi government and they were destroying the “evil” of such government policies.

The effigy was burnt at Saraswati Dhaba as a park of protest.
