Lucknow hit-and-run: Four killed as speeding car crashes into a night shelter

In a late-night hit-and-run accident in Dalibagh district of Lucknow, a speeding car crashed into a night shelter on Sunday killing four and injuring eight others. The incident took place at around 1:30 am in the morning, when around 80 labourers were sleeping inside the shelters. According to the police, the driver of the car, along with his four companions, was driving under influence. The deceased have been identified as Prithvi Raj, Nanku, Abdul and Gokharan.

The four killed were daily wage earners from Uttar Pradesh’s Bahraich district, according to news channel NDTV. The car was badly damaged in the accident. It is a red colour Hyundai i20, bearing the registration number UP 32 GH 7788.
