Deepika Padukone, the current queen bee of Bollywood is on a roll. The stunning actress will be seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next Padmavati, for which she has reportedly been paid a whooping Rs 11 crore and with that she is now the highest paid actress in Bollywood dethroning Kangana Ranaut.
To add to her already overflowing list of laurels, besides being the highest paid actress Deepika is also reportedly the highest paid brand ambassador among actresses.
Padukone is the highest-paid female brand ambassador in India and endorses several brands including Coca-Cola, Axis Bank, Kellogg’s, Vogue, Tissot, Van Heusen, Tanishq and Nike. Tanishq is also a Tata brand like Vistara, for which she has signed on as a brand ambassador. “It is a matter of great pride for me to be associated with Vistara, a brand that is reliable, warm and friendly; a brand that carries the lineage of Tata and Singapore Airlines. The new TVC aims to capture that feeling in a charming and evocative manner,” Deepika said in a statement. She is the first actress to promote an airline. No other Indian airline currently has a brand ambassador from Bollywood.
Deepika’s appearance in Da Da Ding ad for Nike was another talking point earlier this year. Directed by Frenchman François Rousselet, the ad film doubled up as a music video of sorts is set to an anthem created by Gener8ion, featuring American rapper Gizzle.
The Bajirao-Mastani actress will also be seen in her Hollywood debut later this year. She is starring opposite Vin Diesel in xXx: The Return of Xander Cage.
