Former Supreme Court judge, Markandey Katju, known for his contentious take on issues, in his latest blog has termed the Keralites as ‘Real Indians’. In his blog and a Facebook post ‘Who are the real Indians’, Katju said that Keralites stay united and in harmony and hence they represent the whole of India. ‘I believe that the real Indians are the Keralites, because they have in them the quintessential qualities of Indians,’ he said, adding that everyone ‘should imbibe their spirit and qualities’.

He compliments the Christians of Kerala, the trade relations of Kerala 2000 years back, the great artists and the Keralites’ tradition to cross seas.

Katju writes that he has many Kerala friends and finds no illiteracy in Kerala. Keralites hard working nature, intelligence, modesty, secular and cosmopolitan views among others were given a thumps up. He ends the blog by appealing to all Indians to learn from Keralites.
