New Delhi: The Central government has planned to celebrate the 350th birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh in full spirit and is estimating a heavy budget of 100 crores for this. The Prime Minister himself announced the event on the occasion of martyr Banda Singh’s death anniversary. Premier Modi said that for this purpose a high level national committee will be organised. This committee will prepare the programme for the celebration.

PM Modi said that Guru Gobind Singh’s anniversary will be celebrated at every nook and corner of the country and will indeed be celebrated at every nation where Indians reside. He added that for the occasion, approximately one hundred crores will be spent and the same amount is expected to come from the Punjab government as well.

Guru Gobind Singh was the tenth and last guru of Sikh community. He was born on 22 December, 1666. Narendra Modi remarked that when we celebrate historical occasions we connect future generations to their roots. People who forget history, don’t create history either, he said.
