They met through Facebook in 2014 and soon fell in love when he was 15 and she was 17. With their families not objecting to their relationship, they got married in September 2015. Now, Hindustan Times has reported a assault charge against the boy and the boy says his now-wife forced him into marrying her even while he was under-age.

Ten months later, love turned into hate. The boy, a Class 12 student, lodged a police case against his wife under the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006. He alleged she forced him to marry her even though he was underage. He accused her of assaulting her many times.

The woman, who stopped studying after marriage, lodged a rape case against the boy. She alleged her husband was trying to abandon her.

The police have booked her under section 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and the child marriage Act. The boy has been booked in a rape case.

The police said the teen lived in Ashok Vihar. Before marriage, the girl lived in Subhash Nagar. After preliminary questioning, they found that one of the boy’s relatives was urging him to re-marry, said investigating officer Sunil Kumar to Hindustan Times.

“In wedding photos, the boy’s family members are seen blessing the couple, which means they are part of child marriage. They will be booked after investigation,” said Kumar. He said the boy didn’t want to live with his wife anymore.
