British Prime Minister Theresa May is set to travel to Germany for her first overseas visit as the country’s leader.

May is meeting with German Chancellor Angela Merkel after her first session of prime minister’s questions since winning power following Britain’s vote to leave the European Union. She is likely to be asked Wednesday when she will invoke Article 50, which triggers the process.

May will travel Thursday for talks with French president Francois Hollande.

May says that while she doesn’t underestimate the challenge of negotiating the British exit, she firmly believes “that being able to talk frankly and openly about the issues we face will be an important part of a successful negotiation.”

May says she plans to tell Merkel and Hollande she values strong relations.
