A man was arrested today for allegedly possessing 116 bottles of Indian-Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) in his house at Hasanganj in Munger district in Bihar, where consumption of liquor is prohibited.
Acting on a tip off, police raided the village and arrested Kishor Yadav from his dilapidated house and seized 116 bottles of IMFL, Superintendent of Police Ashish Bharti said.
Yadav had allegedly brought the consignment of liquor from Jharkhand for selling it to local consumers at a premium.
Yadav’s two other associates, Santosh Yadav and Shatrujeet Yadav, managed to escape ahead of police raid, he said.
Bihar was in April declared a dry state with the Nitish Kumar government imposing a total ban on the sale and consumption of alcohol including IMFL.
