Salman Khan‘s Sultan has been on a record breaking spree ever since it released this Eid. It broke more than 35 records over the 5-day weekend that it enjoyed and looks like it is on its way to smash a few more. The film has performed fabulously over the second weekend too, as it collected RS 34.07 crore over the three days to take its total tally to Rs 263.63 crore (nett) in 12 days at the domestic box office. But this tremendous run isn’t just limited to India, as Sultan performs very well at the overseas market too and it has crossed 500 crore worldwide.
The film has collected Rs 136.33 crore (gross) at the overseas box office and broken quite a few records too. As trade analyst Taran Adarsh revealed in his tweet, “#Sultan – OVERSEAS – Till Weekend 2: $ 20.30 million [Rs 136.33 cr]. FANTASTIC! Note:- 6 July to 17 July 2016. #Sultan – OVERSEAS [key markets] – Till Weekend 2: USA-CANADA: $ 5.25 mn, UAE-GCC: $ 7.43 mn, UK-IRELAND: £ 1.51 mn, PAKISTAN: $ 2.58 mn.”
With the film performing so well at both the domestic and international markets, Sultan has breached the Rs 500 crore mark (gross) at the worldwide market. As Taran Adarsh revealed in his tweet, “#Sultan Crosses Rs 500 cr [gross] WORLDWIDE… $ 75 million… #YRF”
Sultan is now the fourth highest worldwide and domestic Hindi grosser, just behind Dhoom 3, Bajarangi Bhaijaan and PK. It is likely to cross Dhoom 3‘s collection soon. But will it cross Bajrangi Bhaijaan and PK‘s lifetime collections?
