Bharatiya Janata Party will take out a 100-day long rath yatra, known as ‘Parivartan Yatra’, across Uttar Pradesh to make people aware about the achievements of the Narendra Modi government at the Centre and the alleged failures of the Samajwadi Party regime in the state. BJP leaders said that though the dates for the yatra are yet to be decided, it will take place in August or September from four corners of the state. The yatra will cover all 403 assembly seats of UP, reported TNN.

Bareilly city president of BJP Umesh Katheriya said, “After BJP recently gheraoed at least two police stations in each assembly seats, it gave the message to the common people that police stations are the root cause of corruption in UP. Now, we want to bring change in the state by taking out Parivartan Yatra. The BJP has appointed 15 party workers whose job will be to lead the yatra.”

According to BJP leaders, the yatra will begin from the four cardinal directions, with the districts of origin to be finalised. The routes will not overlap but will cover all the assembly constituencies.

“The main aim of the yatra will be to highlight the achievements of Modi government and failures of SP government. It will help people to draw a sharp contrast between the governance of the two parties. The yatra will spend a day at each assembly seat and we will address public gatherings,” said a senior party leader.

“A large number of vehicles will participate, while the vehicle which will lead the yatra will be in the shape of a rath, with ‘Parivartan Yatra’ written on it,” said Katheriya.

Apart from the yatra, BJP will send out video vans in each division of the state in September this year. The vans will run videos of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speeches for half-an-hour at designated spots, said party leaders.
