Acting on a tip off that the trio had withdrawn a hefty amount of Rs 57.73 lakhs from a local cooperative bank, a trap was laid and the “unaccountable” cash was recovered from their car. When quizzed about the huge sum, they could not give a satisfactory answer and were subsequently held.
The accused were produced before a local court yesterday which remanded them to ACB’s custody till October 29, the release said.
The employees have been booked under relevant sections of the Anti Corruption Act.
