CBI has filed charge sheet against a candidate and a middleman for allegedly helping 29 examinees in getting admission to MBBS course through forgery and impersonation in pre-medical test conducted in 2008, 2009 and 2011 by the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board also known as Vyapam.

In the charge sheet filed in the court of Special Judge, Vyapam Cases in Jabalpur, the agency alleged that the two accused entered into a criminal conspiracy with each other for managing admission of 29 candidates in MBBS at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College, Jabalpur through cheating, forgery and impersonation.

The case was registered against 60 accused on the orders of Supreme Court in July 2015.

“The investigation revealed that the candidate took the assistance of one impersonator in the written examination of PMT-2009 with the help of middleman. After intensive efforts, the middle man, who was absconding since the registration of FIR by local police, was arrested on May 2016 at Kanpur (UP) by CBI and presently he is in judicial custody,” CBI spokesperson said.

She said the middleman was allegedly keeping the ill-gotten cash amounts in the bank account of his brother.

“The expert opinion of Central Forensic Science Laboratory on handwriting/signature on the OMR answer sheet had proved that the candidate did not appeared in the examination and the unidentified impersonator appeared on his behalf in the said examination,” she said.
