Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das today announced a compensation of Rs one lakh from the Chief Minister’s fund to the family members of the 4-year-old girl, who was raped and murdered recently within Sidogra police station limits here.

The announcement was made after the victim s parents along with members of Sikh community met Das at his residence here today and appealed for adequate compensation.

The cheque of the amount would be handed over to the minor girl’s father Kashmir Singh alias Bunty soon, an official release here said.

Das also assured to provide Rs two lakh more from the Victim Compensation Scheme, the release said.

The victim was lured away by one Sunny Gope on August 16 from the Bagan Area of Sidgora locality and was raped in a vacant Tata Steel quarter.

After committing the crime, Sunny along with his uncle Neeraj Gope, a plumber, strangulated the girl and the body was dumped in a nearby pond.

The body was found floating in the pond on August 18.

The Police had arrested the uncle-nephew duo, who were tenants in the victim’s house for last three years before they were evicted for non-payment of rent.

Sunny had told police that he was enraged over the way they were forced to vacate the house and hence committed the crime in revenge.
