Shah said till November 7 the political parties were asking, “kale dhan ke liye kiya kya (What did you do on black money?). Now they are saying, kale dhan ke liya aisa kyon kiya (Why did you do this)”.
The opposition parties have come together now to oppose the move because they have been hit by it.
The BJP chief said for most political parties such as SP, BSP, AAP and Trinamool, the demonetisation is like a flood. “During a flood, the cat, the snake, the mouse, all cling to the upright banyan tree. The cat then doesn’t fear the snake, the mouse doesn’t fear the cat. They all wait for the flood to recede. That’s what the opposition parties are doing,” said Shah taking a dig at the Congress and other parties uniting to protest against demonetisation.
Speaking about the achievements of the Modi government in its two-and-a-half years in power, Shah said India under Modi is the fastest growing economy in the world. On the ongoing tension between India and Pakistan, Shah added, “it’s not the Sonia-Manmohan government. Our soldiers went inside their home and killed them to avenge the killings at Uri. Indian soldiers don’t need the permission from Delhi anymore to kill their enemies”.
