An alleged drug trafficker from Madhya Pradesh who had come to Delhi to supplying fine quality opium on the instruction of his jailed gang leader, has been caught and the contraband seized from his possession, police said today.
The drug peddler Sonu Banjara (19) belonged to Neemach in MP. He was caught by a Crime Branch team near Singhu Border with 3 kg of opium worth Rs 15 lakh, said Ravindra Yadav, Joint Commissioner of Police(Crime Branch).
During interrogation, Sonu disclosed that he was supplying the contraband at the instance of one Mangi Lal who was presently lodged in Chittorgarh jail in a drug trafficking case.
Sonu also told police that Mangilal was controlling the racket from jail and he worked as his supplier of opium in Delhi, Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan.
He further revealed that he had received the opium from a farmer on the instruction of Mangilal.
