Four held for drug peddling

Jammu: Four persons were arrested in Jammu today after drugs worth lakhs of rupees were seized from their possession.

“While checking vehicles at Sunjwan-Bathindi road in the city, police intercepted a vehicle in which three youths were present last night”, a police officer said.

Finding something suspicious, the vehicle was checked and 25 grams of heroin was recovered from their possession, he said, adding those arrested have been identified as Rameem Ahmed Malik, Mukhtiar Ali and Altaaf Hussain.

A case has been registered against them, he said.

In the second incident, a person was intercepted by police in Bour camp and 2 kgs of poppy was recovered from him, the officer said.

The person, identified as Mohinder Singh was arrested and a case was registered against him, he added.
