Kolkata: The Calcutta High Court today directed the West Bengal government to immediately publish the results of Teachers’ Eligibility Test (TET), for which around 23 lakh candidates appeared.

Dismissing all petitions challenging various issues with regard to the examination and eligibility of non-trained candidates, Justice C S Karnan directed the government to publish the results immediately.

At least 23 lakh candidates appeared for the eligibility examination for teaching jobs in various government and government-aided schools on October 11, 2015.

Results of the examination could not be published owing to litigations by some candidates who challenged certain provisions, including allowing non-trained candidates for teaching jobs.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had recently said that the government would publish the results as soon as the cases pending in the high court were disposed of.
