New Delhi: After 20 months’ wait, finally the moment has arrived when PM Modi’s new brood of ministers will swear in. It is time of Narendra Modi’s Cabinet expansion. The expansion shall officially take place tomorrow, that is, Tuesday. It has been reported that the Darbar Hall in the Rashtrapati Bhavan has been chosen as the venue of the ceremony.

Since the formation of government in 2013, this is the first time that an expansion in the Union Cabinet is going to be undertaken. Some new ministers might take the coveted seats this time during the Cabinet expansion and the portfolio of some of the existing ministers could be changed. It has also been reported that politicians above the age of 70 shall not be made ministers. After Cabinet expansion, new ministers will take oath at the Darbar Hall of the Rashtrapati Bhavan at 11 o’clock.

This expansion came on Tuesday keeping in the view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s imminent tour of four African nations, namely Mozambique, South Africa, Tanzania and Kenya, from July 7 to 11 July. There are strong chances of a minister at least from UP.

Apna Dal MLA Anupriya Patel is said to have a confirmed seat from UP according to speculations. Apna Dal is in alliance with the ruling party in UP. Alongside Patel, Purushottam Rupala, Ramdas Athavle, Ajay Tamta are the main names. As of now, there are 66 ministers in the Union Cabinet.
