A 15 year old boy Vishal, who met with an accident before his school and suffered brain death is all set to give a lease of life four, reported TNN. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has arranged a special aircraft immediately after he got the report to take this 15-year-old’s heart to Kochi for transplantation.
The heart retrieval process have begun at medical college in Thiruvananthapuram and it is expected to shift the heart by 11 am.
His liver will be given to a patient st KIMS and two patients at medical college Thiruvananthapuram will get his two kidneys.
The 15-year-old Vishal met with the accident while crossing the road while returning home after school on July 16. It was the parents of Vishal, who decided to donate the organs of Vishal after discussing with the doctors of medical college here.
Soon the hospital authorities contacted the Kerala Network of Organ Sharing which conducts the organ transplantations in the state. As per the registered patients the immediate need for the heart was for a patient at Lissy Hospital in Kochi. Soon the message was given to the chief ministers office from where the decision to arrange a special aircraft from Navy was taken, TNN said.
