After Congress now it’s Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh, who has hired a renowned political strategist to plan their campaign for the state election. World famous political consultant Steve Jarding of Harvard University was already advising SP on several issues but now he has been officially roped in to help SP win their second consecutive term. Jarding, a teacher at the Harvard Kennedy School,  is a campaign manager and political consultant for the Democrats in the US.

He has been a campaigner, manager, political consultant and strategist since 1980. Steve Jarding’s client list includes high profile names like include US Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and former US vice-president Al Gore, and Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy.

After taking charge, the first thing that the newly appointed consultant did for the party was rediseign the entire publicity campaign for the SP government’s welfare schemes. Famous actress Vidya Balan was made the face to endorse Samajwadi Pension Yojana.

In an interview with TOI, Jarding said that the Pension Scheme by the SP government has reached a wide range of public but the beneficiaries still not sure if it’s a state scheme or a central one and that’s why he has suggested to the Chief Minister that the publicity programme should be redesigned.

Thw world-famous political strategist is currently present in Lucknow to finalise micro-level management of the election for SP. He also said that CM Akhilesh Yadav has an excellent connection with the youth and rural mass of Uttar Pradesh.

While talking about his next moves for the party Jarding said that it’s very important that the CM gets to know about each and every small to huge requirement of every constituency.

Stve Jarding will also train the Samajwadi Party election candidates on how to communicate more effectively with the constituents and address their needs and problems.

His teams are camping in villages, getting feedback and sending it to the CM’s office for urgent redressal. “The chief minister told me to stay in the house of the poorest of poor villagers, live with him for about a week, and then report. So I did, and sent my report. District officials addressed the issues within 24 hours,” he added. From his primary survey, and from the feedback given to the CM, a clean image emerges of Akhilesh. “This could be the game-changer,” remarked Jarding.
