It was war of words between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Monday in Uttar Pradesh as both exchanged allegations. While Modi hit out on the Opposition accusing it of barring the parliament from running, Rahul alleged that Modi’s decision of demonetisation was done for the purpose of extending financial favours to a few rich families that are Modi’s close friends.

“They (Opposition) have come together to save some corrupt persons and that is why they are not letting the parliament to work. They throw papers on the speaker and such an act is even not done in municipality. Even after the president’s request they are not letting the house to run”, Modi said.

Meanwhile Rahul alleged that only 1 per cent rich have benefited from this decision and 99 per cent of te country is weeping.
