“There is a huge amount of awareness, but what the result is, time will tell. From the corporate perspective, there are a lot of policies and a lot of ‘rah-rah’ about diversity ratios, the six-month maternity policy and paternity leaves and so on. But is that really impactful? The question is what do women want and how are we addressing that.

“A lot of these decisions about doing a women’s day event are probably being taken by people who aren’t asking what women really want. When I have asked this question, they want different things but don t want a differentiation. What I want is inclusion,” Kumar said.
