Kelly Clarkson celebrates her ‘American Idol’ anniversary with a touching tribute

Los Angeles: Singer Kelly Clarkson, who won the first season of “American Idol” 14 years ago, celebrated her musical journey which she started with the 2002 reality show.

The 34-year-old Grammy-winner recalled the time where it all started on Twitter by thanking the popular singing talent hunt show for giving her “amazing opportunities and experiences”.

Clarkson rose to fame in 2002 after winning the inaugural season of the “American Idol”, and has since been referred to as the “Original American Idol” and the “Queen of Covers”.

Her debut single, “Before Your Love” became the best-selling single of 2002 in the United States. She also became the runner-up of World Idol the following year.
