A Dalit gangrape victim was allegedly gangraped a second time by the same men accused the first time, in Rohtak on Wednesday, reported the Hindustan Times.

The victim, a student of Rohtak’s women college, was gangraped by five men in Bhiwani three years ago, after which the family shifted to Rohtak.

Her family said she had gone to college Wednesday morning and did not return. She was later found unconscious near Sukhpura Chowk on Wednesday night with her clothes torn, after which she was rushed to Rohtak Civil Hospital.

The family of the victim has alleged that she was gangraped by the same men on Wednesday because she did not withdraw rape case against them. The family said two of the five accused in the rape were arrested in 2013. However, they were out on bail.

“We had filed a case in the court for the arrest of the remaining three and re-arrest of the two out on bail. We were getting constant threats from the accused to reach a compromise outside the court, but we remained firm. That’s why they have attacked her again,” victim’s brother told HT.

In her statement to the police, the victim said she was kidnapped by the same accused when she was standing at the college gate on Wednesday. She said they took her away in their car and raped her.

Women police station house officer (SHO) Garima said. “The girl has been medically examined and a case is being registered against the accused named by her.” The police said they were examining the details of previous gangrape case registered by the victim.
