A top French official says all 84 people killed in the Nice truck attack have been identified.
Prosecutor’s office spokeswoman Agnes Thibault-Lecuivre said Wednesday that as the formal identification wraps, up the death toll has not increased for last Thursday’s massacre that saw 31-year-old Mohamed Lahouaiyej Bouhlel drive a truck down a seaside boulevard full of people.
Authorities have not released an official list naming the dead, some of whom died in the hospital following the July 14 Bastille Day rampage.
Thibault-Lecuivre said five unnamed people remain in custody for possible links to the attack and two of them have had their detentions extended exceptionally beyond the 96-hour deadline. A sixth unnamed person detained over the attack has been released.
