Diplomatic espionage: Delhi police detains Pakistan high commission staffer

NEW DELHI: A Pakistan high commission official has been detained in the capital by Delhi Police for espionage.

According to reports, the official was on Pakistan envoy Abdul Basit’s staff and was in possession of highly classified army-related documents. The man held for espionage is one 35-year-old Mehmood Akhtar. The Intelligence Bureau had reportedly tailed him for a week.
