Edible and non-edible oils drop on subdued demand

Mumbai: Groundnut oil declined at the Vashi oils and oilseeds wholesale market here today due to subdued demand from stockists and retailers amid adequate stocks.

Refined palmolein also dropped on poor offtake from retailers.

Elsewhere, castorseeds bold and castoroil commercial slipped following lower demand from soaps and shippers industries.

Linseed oil slumped owing to lack of demand from paint and allied industries.

In the edible segment, groundnut oil moved down by Rs 10 per 10kg to Rs 1,390 from Monday’s closing level of Rs 1,400 and refined palmolein eased further by Rs 3 per 10kg to Rs 620 as compared to Rs 623 yesterday.

In other hand non-edible section, castorseed bold slid by Rs 15 per 100kg to Rs 3,640 as against Rs 3,655 and castor oil commercial edged down by Rs 3 per 10kg to Rs 758 from Rs 761 previously.

Linseed oil fell by Rs 25 per 10kg to Rs 1,100 as against Rs 1,125 yesterday.
