Rewari: Freedom fighter Harnarayan, who was a member of Indian National Army (INA), died due to cardiac arrest, his family said here today.
A resident of Mohdinpur village, he was 102.
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar condoled the Harnarayan’s death last night.
In his death, the country and state have lost a great patriot, he said.
The last rites were performed today with full state honour at his native village, Mohdinpur.
Relatives, friends and well wishers bid him a tearful adieu.
Born in 1915, Harnarayan had rubbed his shoulders with Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose during the freedom struggle and served jail several times.
He joined INA in 1937 and retired in 1946.
During this period, he showed indomitable courage in Singapore, Malaysia and Germany.
Harnarayan was among seven freedom fighters from Mohdinpur.
