Prime Minister Narendra Modi making a statement after days after Indian Army’s surgical strikes on terror bases across Line of Control as also in the backdrop of Pakistan’s constant clamour for highlighting the Kashmir issue at the international for a, said that India has never attacked any country or coveted anyone’s territory but it has always made supreme sacrifice while fighting for others.
“India has not attacked anyone. It is neither hungry for any territory. But in the two World Wars (in which India had no direct stake), 1.5 lakh Indian soldiers had laid down their lives fighting for others,” the Prime Minister said on Sunday at the inaugural ceremony of the Pravasi Bharatiya Kendra at New Delhi.
Narendra Modi said that he feels India could never make the world realise the value its sacrifice and that he always pays a visit to the Indian soldiers’ memorials whenever he goes abroad.
He also noted that Indian diaspora should not be looked at only in terms of numbers but in terms of strength.
