If Parrikar accepts felicitation for surgical strikes, he should take responsibility and step down after attacks like in Baramullah: Congress

Goa Congress on Monday strongly condemned the felicitation planned by the state BJP unit for the Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar, saying if anyone should be felicitated it’s the brave Indian Army and not the minister. They also said that BJP is trying to politicise the surgical strike.

“What is needed is motivating our armed forces and if the BJP wants to felicitate, it must be our brave soldiers. It is time we stop politicising the strikes,” Congress Goa spokesman Sunil Kawathankar said. “If Parrikar accepts the felicitation, he should also take responsibility and step down when attacks like in Baramullah happen,” he added.
