Jammu and Kashmir: 2 terrorists killed, 1 jawan martyred in ongoing encounter

Two terrorists were killed and an Army jawan was martyred after an encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists in Bandipora district of Jammu and Kashmir. Gunshots were heard in the area. A joint team of Army and police launched anti-terror operations in Sopore and Bandipora districts, a report said.

Tension has escalated along LoC following surgical strikes. Earlier, Pakistan’s Army Captain was killed in the massive assault launched by the Indian Army in along the Line of Control seeking retribution for the mutilation of the body of an Indian soldier on Tuesday. Three other Pakistani Army men were also killed in the firing. On Tuesday, 3 Indian soldiers had been killed by militants from across the border, while one of their bodies had been badly mutilated. The Indian army had condemned the act and vowed to seek retribution and give Pakistan befitting reply for their cold-blooded brutality.
