The sprawling Poes Garden bungalow in Chennai will go to Saikala, and the Kodanad estate in the Nilgiris, Jaya Publications, Sasi Enterprises and the other businesses in which the two women were partners will also go to Jaya’s confidante, Telegraph reported.
Sasikala has been a constant companion in Jayalalithaa’s life for decades. She even went to jail with her when the latter was arrested in 1996 for the colour TV scam. Even as Jaya’s body was kept in Chennai’s Rajaji Hall to allow supporters to pay tribute, her family members were conspicuous in their absence. It was Sasikala and her extended family who sat by the body.
Jayalalithaa’s brother Jayakumar died in an accident in 1995. His daughter Deepa was not allowed to meet the leader at Apollo Hospital.
