Razak is expected to visit India next year as both countries continue to strengthen bilateral ties, following Modi’s visit to Malaysia last year.
In the conference, Modi also praised Razak, saying under his leadership Malaysia is moving towards its goal of achieving developed country status by 2020.
He said close ties between India and Malaysia are “integral to the success of our Act East Policy”.
He said the “timeless ties” between India and Malaysia are reinforced by the presence of a large Indian community in that country.
