Music composer Jeet Gannguli says music directors should compose the entire soundtrack of a film as the trend of having multiple composers is rather bad.

Jeet, who has composed music for films like “Aashiqui 2”, “Citylights” and “Humari Adhuri Kahani”, says when a composer is given the responsibility of coming up with a film’s music, he has everything chalked out on his mind.

“According to me, one composer should do one film. This trend (of multiple composers) is not good. Because a composer’s soul goes into a film. They should do the entire film, even the background score. If not, then don’t do it,” Jeet told PTI.

“A composer has an entire feel ready in his mind, starting from the sound he wants to use. Now that (trend) has gone but it will be back. The multiple composers trend is going on now, we can’t help it,” he added.

Jeet has currently composed six songs for the upcoming Vikram Bhatt-directed horror “Raaz Reboot”. Out of the six songs, three have been sung by Arijit Singh.

The “Raaz 3” composer says it is great working with the 29-year-old singer, with whom he has previously given hits like “Hamari Adhuri Kahani”, “Muskurane Ki Wajah” and “Chahun Main Ya Naa”.

“He understands me. It should be a singer’s quality to know what a composer wants and sing accordingly. I think I have composed nearly 20 hit tracks with him now. May be after fifty years people will say, ‘this was one good jodi’,” the 39-year-old composer said.

“It does not happen every time. It is a blessing that you get a good singer like him. The time at which he has come, and even other singers like Benny Dayal, Palak Muchhal, Papon, Jubin Nautiyal, it is fantastic,” Jeet added.

Jeet is also praise for Mukesh and Mahesh Bhatt, the film’s producers.

“There are very few people, like Mukesh and Mahesh Bhatt, Bhushan Kumar, and even Yash Chopra, with whom I have worked, who understand music. We can compose 100 songs in a day but they are the only ones who can guide you. When they say a particular song will work, I am rest assured and believe them completely.
