Rahul’s message was conveyed to the Samajwadi Party in a hush-hush meeting the Congress’s Uttar Pradesh strategist Prashant Kishor had with Mulayam Singh Yadav on Tuesday.
According to sources, Samajwadi Party MP Amar Singh, who Akhilesh is bitterly opposed to, was also present in the meeting.
While the details of the meeting were not revealed, it comes amid speculation over the Congress and the Samajwadi Party looking at forging an alliance.
