Shirdi, Maha: A rally was taken out here hailing the Army for conducting surgical strikes across the Line of Control and causing a lot of terrorists to die.
Slogans like ‘Vande Mataram’ were raised during the rally last night in which several youths participated.
A public meeting was held later where the youths supported the Centre’s decision to carry out the surgical strikes on terror launch pads in PoK.
A participant Nasir Daruwala said, “I pay homage to 19 jawans, who were killed in the Uri attack on September 18. I also congratulate our brave jawans for the successful operation.”
Another participant Gaurav Upasani said, “With the action, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given citizens a reason to celebrate ‘Dussehra’ 12 days in advance.”
Indian Army in the intervening night of September 28 and 29, carried out surgical strikes on seven terror launch pads across the LoC inflicting “significant casualties” on terrorists.
