Slow but steady inflow of new notes deposits starts in banks

With ATMs now operating 24×7, crowding of bank branches has ceased.This has drastically improved banking operations with walk-in customers now able to conduct transactions in 10-15 minutes against an average of four hours a month earlier and two hours a fortnight ago. All bank branches have lifted the various curbs that they had informally put in place to manage the exigency . “We were regulating the entry of customers into the branch to prevent it getting swamped. But that is not required any longer.Since the cash situation has eased, we are not limiting payment either,” said the manager of a branch of SBI.
