BENGALURU: A woman in her 30s took to social media, alleging that an autorickshaw driver tried to clandestinely shoot her video on his cellphone. The driver, however, claimed there was no power in the area and he had attached the phone to the vehicle’s roof to use its light to return money to the previous customer.

Cubbon Park police have detained the driver and are waiting for the woman’s statement.

“According to the woman, she boarded the auto near Richmond Town on the night of July 24. After travelling for a while, something fell on her foot, and she realized it was a mobile phone. It was then that she understood it was attached to the roof with an intention to film her,” police quoted from the woman’s Facebook post, which has since been deleted.

The woman immediately asked the driver to stop the auto and took him to task. Passersby checked his mobile and found no video, but police, quoting from the woman’s post, said she expressed doubts that the driver could have deleted it.
