As the expected questions of the duo’s preparations ahead of the bout came to an end, a photo opportunity was offered. It’s a general practice that takes place after all such media dealings. Only this time, Cheka uttered some words – presumably in Swahili – that Vijender didn’t fancy.

The Indian boxer shoved his opponent, but he barely seemed to mean it.They came face-to-face again, muttered something under their breath as Cheka held a pose of his finger wagging in front of Vijender’s face. The Haryana-born 31-year-old allowed it, briefly even looking towards the camera as if it was a mirror.
