American Presidential nominee Republican Donald Trump, who has emerged as the biggest defender of Vladimir Putin lately, remains strangely silent regarding the rising death toll caused by the Russian airstrikes on Syria.

According to a report by The Washinton Post Vladimir Putin is now the force behind Moscow’s effort to bomb Aleppo, Syria.

The bombing by the Syrian regime backed by the Russian President continued this week rejecting the ceasefire negotiated by the US Secretary of State John Kerry, said the report.

Syrian “families huddle together in the dark, gathered in one room so that they don’t die alone, listening to the roar of the jets and waiting for the bombs to fall,” a Washington Post dispatch reported Thursday.

In the wee hours of Wednesday morning, two hospitals, Aleppo’s biggest, were hit in the dark, killing patients and effectively destroying the facilities. At least 1,700 bombs have carpeted eastern Aleppo in the week since the so-called cease-fire agreement, with bunker-buster bombs, designed for military targets, being dropped on apartment buildings filled with Syrian families, said The Washington Post.

Earlier Donald Trump had praised Putin generously saying that he is a “strong leader and that he is a man with whom he could “get along well” do business.

Putin also reciprocated to Trump’s praise very well and called him “a very colorful, talented man,” and, according to the real estate business mogul, has praised him as “brilliant.”
