The Union Government is now planning to have a separate female wing in defense forces, especially in the aircrafts division of armed forces.
The National Defence Academy and Military Schools are now preparing for vacancies to be filled by women candidates. Defence minister Manohar Parikar has planned to position women on the Indian armed forces.
He also said that female candidates should be included in army and military schools, and this issue shall be reflected upon and be under active consideration. He added that India is a country of female figures like queen of Jhansi and Durga but for some reasons, women have been thus far kept away from defence forces.
