A senior official at the hospital stated that as per policy decision they were not accepting demonetised currency notes.
“The minister brother was admitted about 15 days ago and the total bill amount was around Rs 8-11 lakhs. The family had paid an advance of Rs 3-4 lakh. Do you think the family will pay such a huge balance amount in cash? Definitely nobody knew that he would die today and hence they would not be roaming around carrying cash to clear the bills. Also, as per a policy decision, we try our best to make transactions cashless. The family gave a cheque and claimed the body,” the official said.
