CHENNAI: In another sign that V K Sasikalaa, aide of former chief minister J Jayalalithaa, is likely to succeed former chief minister J Jayalalithaa as the next AIADMK general secretary, a series of official party releases on Sunday tracked her ‘official’ engagements, referring to her as ‘Chinnamma’ (junior ‘Amma’).
Sunday’s releases mark the first time the party has referred to Sasikalaa as ‘Chinnamma’ in official releases although other statements as well as posts on the party’s official Twitter handle refer to her as ‘Thirumathi Sasikala’. More office-bearers met her on Sunday to urge her to lead AIADMK, the party said.
The party released two photographs, featuring Sasikalaa, on Sunday. The first photograph shows Sasikalaa with staff members of the news section of pro-AIADMK channel Jaya TV paying tributes to a portrait of Jayalalithaa at the departed leader’s Poes Garden residence.
