“The government under the control of the RSS is intensifying its Hindutva agenda,” Yechury added.
Attacking the BJP-led NDA government on the Kashmir issue, the CPI(M) leader alleged that efforts were on to “aggravate the situation with an eye on next year’s Uttar Pradesh Assembly election”.
Stating that his party was opposed to ‘triple talaq’, he alleged that the Centre had “clubbed the matter” with Uniform Civil Code (UCC) with an “ulterior” motive, adding that a unilateral imposition of UCC would divide the society.
Referring to the problems faced by countries following capitalism, Yechury said, “A socialist political alternative is the only answer to capitalism and these crises.”
“The CPI-M will redouble its resolve to strengthen the socialist political alternative to capitalism. It is the only answer to the crisis the country is facing,” he added.
